Welcome! My blog is centered on papercrafting but from time to time my family will make appearances (usually on layout pages) and I'm working hard to see how I can incorporate my love for all things Star Trek!

Character Cafe Challenge
The Character Cafe Feature Friday Challenge is to create a gatefold card using one of their images. I used one of their Freebies for my card. The papers came from CraftyCatz as a digi download. I colored the images with Copics and added some Kaisercraft pearls to finish off the design. I backed the image with some wonderful suede-feel paper. Normally, I don't use these specialty papers, I keep them to pet, but I bought 2 sheets this time so I could play! I cut out the inside of the paper though to save for another project. I try to be a little frugal with the more expensive papers and it doesn't effect the overall design, I backed the focal with white cardstock. Does anyone do similar things?

What a fantastic job you did!!!! I love how you used the freebie image! Glad you could participate with us! Thanks for joining us at The Character Cafe!
ReplyDeleteWow...beautiful card Penny!! I love the pearl drops you added inside the hearts...it really adds to the image. Does the ribbon hold the card shut or is it just decorative...it looks awesome either way!! Glad to have you play along with us at The Character Cafe this week.

ReplyDeleteI LOVE it!!! Thanks so much for using a TCC image... and to answer your question about the frugal paper hoarding... OH YEAH, I do it!!! I actually have been know to cut a nestie shape out of the middle of the backing paper I'm using since it doesn't get seen anyway (my friends/family would never notice!) Thanks for joining us at TCC this week :)
